The Susquehanna River Birding and Wildlife Trail

Produced and published in 2005 by Audubon Pennsylvania, this 85-page soft-sided guide includes 218 sites in 39 counties in and around the Susquehanna River watershed, including Susquehanna and Juniata Rivers, the Pennsylvania Wilds area, the Appalachian Mountains, and parts of the Pocono and Appalachian Plateaus.This 85-page, soft-sided guide includes 218 sites in 39 counties in and around the Susquehanna River watershed including Susquehanna and Juniata Rivers, the Pennsylvania Wilds area, the Appalachian Mountains, and parts of the Pocono and Appalachian Plateaus. The Eastern Pennsylvania Birding and Wildlife Guide

Produced and published in 2009 by Schuylkill River Heritage Area, Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, and Lehigh Gap Nature Center, this 137-page, spiral-bound guide covers nearly 90 locations in 13 counties in eastern Pennsylvania, including the Schuylkill and Delaware River watersheds. Pennsylvania DCNR provided matching funds for the project. This 137-page, spiral-bound guide covers nearly 90 locations in 13 counties in eastern Pennsylvania, including the Schuylkill and Delaware River watersheds. The counties covered in this guide include just 16% of the state’s land area, but 45% of Pennsylvanians live there. In spite of the dense population, numerous great places have been preserved, many of which are highlighted in this guide. Also included in the guide is an article entitled "Introduction: The Birthplace of American Birding" by natural history writer and Pulitzer Prize finalist Scott Weidensaul.
