Chairman Waxman and Chairman Markey have developed draft legislation that lays the vital groundwork for a long-term vision to reduce global warming pollution, cut our dependence on oil, and repower America with clean energy.

Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA) chairs the House Energy & Commerce Committee and Congressman Ed Markey (D-MA) chairs the Subcommittee on Energy & the Environment. In addition to the release of the draft, the Committee outlined a schedule for moving forward with the legislation, beginning with hearings during the week of April 20th and a legislative markup in the Subcommittee to follow in late April.
